The Flybarless Series Finally Arrives - Walkera V120D01 New Generation Palm Size Helicopter
We all know that the Fixed Pitch Helicopter is better for beginners because of easier setup and less complicated parts than the Collective Pitch Helis, now the V120D01 has gone one step further, it has no Flybar, and added a 3-Axis gyro to help you to stabilize the helicopter, just like adding a Co-Pilot next to you. But for beginners, you may ask "Why Flybarless is good?". Please allow me to explain.
What is a Flybar?
The flybar is a short, thin metal rod placed on top of the helicopter. It is part of the rotor head’s structure, usually attached with a paddle on both ends. The flybar is a stabilizer. The heavier the paddle and longer the flybar, the more stable the heli. However, you can compensate by using the high-tech 3-Axis Gyro. The onboard RX2433V Super Controller makes the V120D01 fly so well that it performs just like an ordinary rotor head helicopter.
Why Make it “Flybarless?”
Flybarless means less moving parts. That saves energy and allows you to fly 20 to 30 percent longer. Also, less parts mean less repairing. Flybarless is the future of RC helicopters!
Difference between V200D01 and V120D01
V200D01 is bigger than V120D01, V200D01 is about the size of your Keybroad, V120D01 is about the size of your palm. V200D01 is evolved from CB180 series, many parts are common. V120D01 is evolved from 4#6 series, many parts are common.
What is 3-Axis Gyro?
3-Axis Gyro means it can sense X, Y and Z axis moments, that means body leaning forward / backward, body rolling left / right, tail drifting CW / CWW, it will constantly monitoring any off-balance in all directions, then it will give signals to all CCPM servos and Rudder servo to balance the helicopter, it works constantly and unless you have the helicopter drifts to much, you will not even notice the system exists, please take a look at the following picture.

Tail rotor is used to generate wind to counter act the main rotor rotation. Precise of tail rotor wind is needed to keep the helicopter heading one direction. We usually have two ways in generating the precise of wind from the tail rotor, one is the Tail Motor, another one is sharing the power from the Main Motor by a tail drive shaft. Tail Motor is usually slower, it can't keep up the main motor's speed and causing the tail to drift while heli is going up and going down, usually low price model and small scale helis use a tail motor. The best solution is to have a Gyro and Rudder Servo. By changing the Tail Rotor blade pitch, you can adjust the amount of wind generating to keep the heli in one heading, to do this, you need a good performance gyro constantly monitoring the heli heading and give correction to rudder servo, then it will push the tail rotor pitch. You will not imagine how quick it worked during the flight, but it is the heart and soul for any RC helicopter.
